Greenwich Academy is fortunate to have outstanding athletic facilities. Ramsing Gymnasium provides full-court space for basketball and volleyball, and is now home to 1500 square feet of space that houses studios for rowing, spinning and yoga. The Raether Athletic Center houses two full courts for basketball and volleyball, as well as five international squash courts with stadium seating. Our recently renovated fitness center with cardio machines, free weights, TRX, medicine balls and kettle balls has a birds eye view of our turf fields. Raether Athletic Center also houses a training room for the prevention and care of athletic injuries, athletic and physical education offices, a conference room and separate locker room facilities for the middle and upper school student-athletes.
Renovated in the fall of 2015, Tammaro Field is a short-piled FieldTurf surface optimal for field hockey and lacrosse. To the south, the playing surface's ball roll is great for soccer and softball. Surrounding most of the south field is a three lane all-weather track with a high jump apron along with pits for long and triple jump. Two throwing circles for the discus and shot put complete our venues for field events. Additional campus facilities include six tennis courts and Ridgeview Avenue Field, which provides a natural grass playing surface.
Greenwich Academy has established relationships throughout Greenwich and beyond to accommodate our golf team and our cross-country and track and field programs, when needed. Gator sailing keeps its fleet at Indian Harbor, while the crew team finds its home in Cos Cob at the newly built Brunswick Boathouse. Our ice hockey teams call Stamford’s Chelsea Piers home where there are two full-size rinks. Varsity water polo and our middle school swim team train and compete at the local YMCA, while the Brunswick pool is home for our varsity swim team.
