The Ridgeview littles stopped by Mrs. King's office Thursday, where they were treated to a reading of Girl, You're Amazing, a Head-of-School favorite. They examined some special ornaments on Mrs. King's GAPA-decorated tree (including a tiny GA jumper, which all agreed wouldn't even fit a Barbie), took a quick look at pictures of their future new digs, and, like Saint Nick spiriting up the chimney (only way longer and way, way louder) they were gone, off to the Upper School for another visit, another story.
What started about five years ago as a way for the PC girls to get to know the school buildings better, has evolved into a full-on tour and tradition. Like reverse carolers, PCers parade through campus, searching for a story and spreading holiday cheer. Over time, the circuit has grown from original stops at Mrs. King, Mr. Feiner, and Mr. Sullivan and this year includes Mrs. Hanlon, Mrs. Duval, and Ms. Brousseau.
While Mrs. King's quarters are at once commodious and Currier & Ives-ish (that snow!), others are...less so. Not that that fazes the girls. "We just love squeezing into tiny spaces," says Mrs. Esmond. (Good thing, thinks anyone who's seen Mrs. Duval's office.) "These visits are such a highlight of our year," she adds.
Ours too, Mrs. Esmond.
