The GA sailing team had a tremendous weekend on the water. Saturday they competed at the CT State Championship at Sail Black Rock in Bridgeport, CT. The only girls team in the field, GA was one point away from a second place finish to Choate and two places behind their practice partners, Brunswick. Sunday the team returned to Black Rock for the Herreshoff qualifier, one of three sites running in New England. GA was 3 points behind Hotchkiss before the final race of the day. Strong finishes throughout the day in both the A and B races positioned the team to be able to jump ahead on the final sail, which they did, out-pacing the Bearcats by two points. GA will travel to Bowdoin to compete in the Herreshoff Championship where they will look to improve upon last year's results.
