Admission Procedures for the 2019–2020 Academic Year

FOR APPLICANTS TO Pre-Connecting and Connecting Class

Students applying to PC must be 4 years old by June 1, 2019.
Students applying to CC must by 5 years old by August 1, 2019.

All Pre-Connecting (Pre-K) and Connecting Class (Kindergarten) applications to Greenwich Academy must include the following:

PART I: APPLICATION FORM AND FEE
(Due as soon as possible)
The application for admission should be completed online with the non-refundable $75 application fee (fee waived if applying for financial aid). Please note that this part of the application and fee must be received by the Admission Office before an interview or individual tour can be scheduled. The application deadline is December 15. Applications received after December 15 will be considered on a rolling basis, subject to available places in a grade.

PARENT/GUARDIAN INTERVIEW AND CAMPUS TOUR

(Scheduled between September and January)
An interview with the candidate’s parent/guardian is required as part of the application process. After receiving the application for admission, the Admission Office will call you to schedule an appointment to visit the school. Interviews take place beginning in mid-September through January. At this meeting, an admission associate will discuss the candidate’s interests and Greenwich Academy’s curriculum and philosophy. A tour of the campus will take place as well. Please allow approximately 90 minutes for your visit.

TESTING
Applicants to Pre-Connecting and Connecting Class will be assessed individually for approximately 30 minutes in the Admission Office on the main campus. Pre-Connecting and Connecting Class candidates will also visit in small groups at the Ridgeview Avenue campus. The Admission Office will schedule these appointments directly with the parent/guardian.

TEACHER RECOMMENDATION
(Due no later than January 15)
A recommendation from the candidate’s current teacher is required. Please submit this form to the appropriate teacher at the candidate’s current school after November 15.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Greenwich Academy welcomes applications from students who live outside the United States. Greenwich Academy is not an I-20 school and therefore we do not issue student visas. Should you have any questions about acquiring a student visa, we encourage you to contact your local consulate or an immigration attorney before beginning the application process.

NOTIFICATION

Letters of notification will be posted in late February. For a candidate to be considered in this initial round of admission decisions, all parts of the application must be completed by January 15. Families are encouraged to contact the Admission Office if questions arise at any time during the process. We thank you for your interest in and consideration of Greenwich Academy.
