The Holocaust Through the Eyes of a Survivor

On Monday, Judith A. Kallman, author of "A Candle in the Heart," shared her story of surviving the Holocaust during an assembly with Group VIII students. Her visit coincided with their study of 20th century history.

Mrs. Kallman described her harrowing experiences in Slovakia and Hungary during World War II, which resulted in the loss of several immediate family members including her parents. She focused on those who aided her, and reminded her audience to maintain optimism, to work for understanding, and to commit themselves to acts of kindness in their lives.
