Academics are the heart of a Greenwich Academy education, and each student thrives within a college preparatory course of study. GA students are excited about learning. The intellectual atmosphere at GA nurtures girls and young women who are confident, responsible, independent and well equipped to take on a lifelong process of learning.
A strong and expanding component of the GA curriculum includes state-of-the-art technology. Computers are integrated across the GA curriculum, reflecting the world at large.
Each Greenwich Academy student is assigned to an advisor. An advisor is a faculty member or administrator who provides academic and non-academic counsel, support and encouragement to girls as they work toward reaching their maximum potential. Advisors are able to give undistracted attention toward the development of every GA student.
Moreover, the entire faculty meets every month to review the academic and social progress of each student and to plan ways to work together in order to guide all students toward success. Detailed written comments from teachers and advisors supplement students' grades and help parents understand the educational development of their daughters.
Greenwich Academy's Upper School students benefit from a coordinate program with Brunswick School, a neighboring all-boys school. Several Upper School classes also have the unique advantage of learning at a Harkness table, which encourages students to articulate and defend their ideas while learning from one another as well as their teacher. |
