Cowan Center Benefit
Saturday, January 31
Massey Theater, Greenwich Academy
Children will be delighted as they watch seven contemporary stories come to life in this musical revue. In Teacher From the Black Lagoon (by Mike Thaler and Jared Lee), children follow Hubie's imagination as he learns that new experiences can be scary but you can overcome your fears.
These wonderful vignettes all center around classic themes that adults and children of all ages will find entertaining and valuable. This performance will bring to life some of children’s favorite characters such as Splat the Cat, from Love Splat (by Rob Scotton), Grumpy Bird, from the book of the same name (by Jeremy Tankard) and Lilly, from Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse (by Kevin Henkes).
Please join us for The Teacher From the Black Lagoon & Other Story Books, an exciting musical revue based on favorite contemporary children’s books. Approximately 1 hour in length.
Presented by the Cowan Center, a preschool and childcare program whose primary mission is to serve the children of Greenwich Academy faculty and staff. Collaboration, innovation, professional growth and a strong commitment to the care and education of young children are the hallmarks that govern the Cowan Center’s approach to education.
