GA SAT I & II/PSAT TESTING TIMELINE
This timeline is designed as a general overview for the SAT/PSAT testing sequence (Advanced Placement examinations, usually taken in May, are not included here). Prior to the test dates, correspondence from the College Counseling Office will be sent home to parents and students. For exact test dates and registration deadlines, please go to <SAT Dates and Deadlines>

PSAT(Preliminary SAT): A practice test consisting of three sections--Verbal, Mathematics and Writing. These scores are NOT sent to the colleges. The PSAT is designed as a teaching tool to help students begin to understand their testing strengths and weaknesses. Students are registered for the PSAT by Greenwich Academy and billed through the school store.

SAT I: The SAT I is a three-hour, primarily multiple-choice test that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning skills that students have developed over time. Most colleges require SAT I scores for admission. Students must register for this test on their own. Registration booklets are available in the College Counseling office. Students can also register online via the College Board’s web site: http://www.collegeboard.com

SAT II: SAT II tests are one-hour, primarily multiple-choice tests that measure a student's knowledge of particular subjects and her ability to apply that knowledge. Many colleges require or recommend one or more subject tests for admission. Students must register for this test on their own. Registration booklets are available in the College Counseling office. Students can also register on-line via the College Board’s web site: http://www.collegeboard.com
