- Upper School Mathematics Teacher

Greenwich Academy seeks an outstanding Mathematics Teacher for our Upper School. Experience
teaching all levels of secondary school math, including BC Calculus and/or AP Statistics, is
preferred. Successful candidates will be dynamic, accessible and creative teachers, dedicated

- Upper School Languages Teacher

Greenwich Academy seeks an outstanding World Languages Teacher for our Upper School. While we are
particularly interested in candidates who can teach both French and Spanish, we will consider all
dual-language candidates. Expertise in both languages is essential, and the ability to teach
AP-level classes in at least one of the languages is preferred. Our language classes are conducted
exclusively in the language of study, and our approach is inter-disciplinary, with extensive focus
on learning about the cultures in which the languages are spoken. Successful candidates will have
some teaching experience and will be committed to working in a rigorous academic environment and
to immersing themselves in the school community. Currently we offer Italian, French, Latin and
Spanish, and our students also have the opportunity to study Arabic and Chinese through our
coordinate relationship with Brunswick School.
- Teaching Fellow in Mathematics

Greenwich Academy seeks a talented beginning teacher to serve as a teaching fellow in our Upper
School Mathematics Department. The fellowship offers teachers new to the profession the opportunity
to teach motivated, engaged students in a community that prizes learning and professional growth.
The teaching fellow will receive extensive mentoring from colleagues in the Math Department and
will have the opportunity to observe classes taught by those colleagues as part of his or her
regular schedule. The normal load for a teaching fellow is two classes, and fellows are asked to
participate in other areas of school life as well, including coaching, advising, sponsoring a club
or student group, or other endeavors.

- Preschool Teacher

The Cowan Center is seeking a full time preschool teacher. The successful candidate will have a
BA and or MA degree in Education or a related field and at least 3-5 years experience working in
the field of Early Childhood Education. He or she will be nurturing, enthusiastic, eager to take
initiative, flexible, open to personal and professional growth, a strong team player, and have
excellent communication skills. Responsibilities for this position include: creating and
implementing an educationally appropriate curriculum based on the Connecticut Frameworks, attending
team and staff meetings and being available to parents. The preschool teacher will be responsible
for ensuring that the preschool program operates within the framework of the Cowan Center philosophy
and mission and that a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment is provided for each child.
- Preschool Classroom Assistant

The Cowan Center is seeking a part-time preschool classroom assistant. The successful candidate
will have a high school degree or higher, a CDA and experience working with children in a group
setting. He or she will be nurturing, energetic, eager to take initiative flexible, open to
personal and professional growth, and a strong team player. Excellent reading, writing and
communication skills are required. Responsibilities include assisting the teachers with activities,
writing daily reports, reading to the children, general classroom duties and attending staff
meetings. He or she must be willing to fulfill his/her responsibilities in accordance with the
Cowan Center mission and program practices.

- Director of the Annual Fund

The Director of the Annual Fund is responsible for the overall management of the Annual Fund, which coincides
with the School’s fiscal year, and which contributes 9% of the School’s overall budget. The primary aspects
of the job are creating written campaign materials, and recruiting and supporting volunteer solicitors.
Essential Functions:

-Create fall, year-end and spring appeals, organize and execute mailings. A working knowledge
of Quark and Raiser’s Edge is essential to this aspect of the job.
-Draft all Annual Fund letters, appeals as well as thank you and acknowledgement letters, for each
constituency (Alums, current parents, friends, Senior Fund).
-Recruit, train, motivate and support 100+ volunteer solicitors. This includes organizing and
managing events (New Parent Party, Kickoff, Phonathon(s), Senior Parent Reception, Volunteer Appreciation event),
overseeing and documenting the assignment process, constant communication with solicitors as gifts are received,
and periodic updates to leadership, including Board of Trustees, and volunteers about the status of the Fund.
-Communicate with and support donors by supplying information/materials as needed.
-Monitor gift-entry and acknowledgement process to ensure accuracy and consistency.
-Organize and/or assist at Development events as needed. |
